Summer is my favourite time of year my chance to get my legs out and feel the sun on my skin and hang out at the beach my happy place. I find the sea a very healing relaxing place.
There are a few key items I wear when it comes to the beach, although I keep it pretty simple with a bikini, flowy tshirt and shorts. However I think now more than ever I am thinking about sun smart over style.
I never thought I would wear a rash shirt in the water til a few people I knew had melanoma scares. I purchased a Roxy one in December and to be honest was the best purchase I had made in a long time. My shoulders tend to burn the most on the beach, so protecting this part of my body is paramount for me. Although it stuck to me a little in the water the protection was outstanding from water sun glare and stopped the sand getting all over my chest and back in the surf.
Beach style is no longer just a bikini or one piece and a kaftan or tshirt over the top,
You can now pair a pretty summery flowy top with shorts, or a miniskirt or even a pretty sundress or maxi dress if you are attending a lunch or daytime date afterwards.
Some latest fashion looks for the beach this year below from Roxy my favourite surf brand. Whether you have a budget, or can splurge on beautiful elegant beachwear the key is to finding something you feel confident in. To let your natural beauty shine through no matter your body shape.

STYLE TIP :
You can still accessorize at the beach. Keep it simple is key, whether it's a picnic date or a tanning and swimming on the beach. Little accessories can add a cool touch to your outfit and sunglasses are a must.
