For years I have always wondered what the best type of diet to follow would be.

I sometimes find myself very overwhelmed by the sheer amount of diets and fads that are going around these days and if in fact they work, or if it is a short term fix, then once a normal diet has resumed again the weight comes back on.

Could it be in fact that by just eating a healthy balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and protein and cutting out sugary and fatty foods be enough to maintain a healthy weight combined with daily exercise.

Whenever I have spoken to a gym trainer they have advised to eat less calories and have a higher output - as in a balanced healthy diet and exercise to burn off calories to lose the weight.

Woman should have a daily intake of 2,000 calories however if we are wanting to reduce weight by slightly adjusting this and exercising the weight should hopefully start to decline.

We all come in different shapes and sizes, the most important thing to realise is how we feel in our skin and in our clothes not what the scales weigh, or what social media pressures us to succumb to.

It all starts with one small positive change to the road to a happier healthier you.
