If your anything like me the mere thought of going to a gym right now with all the covid hype around just puts me off and is just not on my radar right now. For reasons of my own health and safety.. so i decided to check out some alternatives and give everyone some tips on exercising safely while physically distancing especially if you are stuck at home or like me just getting back into fitness after having a break to heal my body.

Les Mills Workouts online (NZ)

This is my favourite. I recently started doing the classes on Tvnz on demand. Love it feels like i have my own personal trainers in my living room and i dont feel self conscious as its just me in the room not a class full of people so if im a bit out of sync its not so bad. Body combat and Body Balance are my favourite depending on my energy levels and mood. You can also sign up online through their app on play store or apple store for 70% off at the moment. Having loved Les mills classes for years for the energy and great work outs, the instructors continuously bring fun engaging workouts is so well worth it to check it out - results come with hard work and continuous work outs.

Take a walk at the beach

This is my favourite exercise combine the sea air with music and im in heaven.

Just 30 mins of walking by the seaside has a positive effect on your mood also. I mix this up if im anywhere near a walking track ie i have mount maunganui cross train between beach and off road to feel the extra benefits.. 

Benefits of walking on the beach include

Strength training believe it or not walking on sand gives resistance training which will shape those lovely legs of yours and strengthens the arches of your feet.

Clears the mind - within 30 minutes i feel destressed and have a clear mind great for after work if you have had a stressful day.

Exfoliates your skin, great if you walk bare feet on the sand i get quite cracked heals so the wet sand combined with the sea water helps to exfoliate and diminish this problem.  Plenty of pumice on the beach also to aid with this also.

So there you have it 3 benefits of a great beach walk or run try it today, your mind and body will love you for it.

Mountain biking

One of my favourite past times and something i still enjoy today.

Bike rides are a full body work out strengthens your legs, shapes your butt and really is an all over toning exercise and as you are speeding past people its easy to social distance from people.

Whether its forest tracks or just a casual bike ride around a cruisy walking/biking track biking is a great destressor and guarantees to be a great cardio workout. Whether you want to push yourself or just cruise along you will definitely feel the benefits for a long while after your ride.

Try mountain biking today your body will love you for it great for toning.
