If your struggling to get a good nights sleep then this post is for you.

For a few years now I have struggled on and off with I guess you would say insomnia. The last few months because of a medical condition but prior to that I guess stress was the major trigger.

I went on the hunt for some tips for us all to enjoy a great night's sleep.

You see when we tune into our present, we are not worrying about the future and so therefore rest comes to us.

1. Paying attention to what we do on a day to day basis

For example, not having caffeine later in the day, putting away our phones or tablets an hour before bed and perhaps eating earlier so we dont go to bed on a full stomach. I find if I have a particularly stressful day, then I drive home in busy traffic, I send myself straight to the beach for a walk to chill out.

2. Relax your body

Have you ever noticed as I have that you feel super tired watching tv then you get up go to bed and boom your mind races and you cant get to sleep. One trick I found was to tense and relax your muscles one by one, ie starting with the arms tense and relax then follow the way down. You can also try sleep music on you tube I did that one night on my tablet and fell asleep literally on top of it, lol so be careful there.

3. Create an Evening habit before bed

This might be putting all social media tv devices off and reading a book, listening to music or your favourite pod cast. Whatever helps you to unwind from your day.

4. Take care of your worries

My Dad had some good advice for me if your stressed Char go for a walk after work 30 minutes makes a difference. Also to have a notebook by my bed so if I wake or before I go to sleep to write things down so I can tackle it the next morning certainly helps for me.

5. Take a magnesium supplement

I was looking online a while back on natural sleeping tablets and Nutra Life Magnesium + came up. I'm not the one to take medicinal sleeping tablets so a natural one was the right choice for me. The next morning I felt refreshed and although slightly groggy managed to sleep through the night.

Hopefully these handy tips will help us all get the good nights rest we need. As rest is important for our bodies to work at their peak during the day in all situations.

All the best
