If you have ever had that feeling where your day to day routine starts to feel like your running on auto pilot and the days are dragging your not alone. I work in a corporate office job which can be very busy and demanding, it's great but I don't realise I need a break until I start dragging myself up in the mornings and feel worn out by the end of the day, and too tired to fit anything in after work. I don't think you realised it’s happening until you started feeling sluggish and have no patience for anything.
Whether it be work, looking after the kids or running a business taking time out of your schedule to take time for yourself is crucial for not only your well-being but also your mind, we need time to reset as humans so we can perform at our very best in our every day life. Whether it be a weekend away, a vacation overseas or a staycation at home investing in your health and well being should be one of your top priorities.
I recently took a two week holiday mostly at the beach and spending time in the outdoors.. I highly recommend it.. not only did I completely unwind, but I came back to work feeling like I could tackle anything.. For some reason nature has a power over me to completely distract my thoughts and think calmly almost a meditative feeling. Find your relaxation place and go for it.
Some useful information about the ocean is:-
Increases your immunity Ocean water assists in strengthening the body’s cellular immunity in remarkable ways. The number of red blood cells increases between 5 to 20 percent after a swim in the sea and the number of white blood cells increases even more. Seawater is fantastic for people with a weakened immune system, anaemia, and high blood sugar levels. Ocean water strengthens the body against viruses, low defenses, bacteria and pathogens. Seawater is actually used in modern medicine on a large scale. The water from the ocean and our blood plasma are 98% identical.
If you have ever taken a deep breath by the sea, you must remember how wonderful that made you feel, right? Science explains that is because sea air is good for your health. Filled with iodine, magnesium, and salt, sea air boosts your immune system. That’s because when you breathe the sea breeze, you inhale small particles that support respiratory health and reduce allergies and skin problems. In summary, the sea air will protect you against illness and infections.
The quality of sea air enables a better night of sleep. In other words, cleaner air cleans your throat and respiratory system, resulting in better-quality sleep.
Negative ions in sea air help your body absorb more oxygen and balance your serotonin levels. In turn, it allows you to relax, sleep through the night and wake up revitalized. During the day, sea air also keeps you alert and energetic.
Sea air is cleaner
Science states that sea air is cleaner. Ocean surroundings have high concentrations of negative ions (the name of a small molecule that’s gained a negative electrical charge).
Nature, forests, and natural water bodies like the sea, have a higher concentration of ions when we compare them to more urban areas. Ions are responsible for increasing serotonin levels, regulating mood, and boosting energy levels.
So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed and worn out, book that holiday or take time off and get outside in the sea air or nature. Your body, mind and the people around you will thank you for it.
